What do you do when your life changes suddenly? Today I share what happened recently that caused my life to totally change. It was sudden and unexpected and has taught yet more life lessons. It has also showed me that when your body won't, you can't. I only say that because I tried to get right back up on my horse several times and my body didn't let me in one way or another. This was yet even more humbling than prior experiences because I couldn't cheat my way back sooner than now. This experience shook up my mind and body in a way I thought I had the tools to simply plow through but I was mistaken. Overall it has been an experience that will just make me stronger in more ways than before and give me yet one more example to show how you can rise again and be successful when your life suddenly changes.
Let me ask you this? Have you ever been tight for money and just didn't know how you were going to survive and then it just magically appeared. Well I have. You see all through my life I have gotten what I call the right People, Places and Things when I needed them. Now this only works if you accept that there are things greater than yourself in the universe. You also believe that you will always get what you need. It might not be what you want but it will always be what you need. There is a big difference.
This has taught me two things, to savor the successes and to never think of your failures as failures. In actuality, failures are really just something you need to work with, learn from and make necessary adjustments for. This view is what takes the emotion out of it for me so I don't take it so personally and can continue. I always look at what part I played in it, so that I can change myself to be better.
I have been pondering how to handle something and I decided total transparency is the best answer. It is what has kept me sober for so long and allowed me to embrace and move forward in my life with everything that has ever been dealt to me.
It strikes me that that is the song that conveys what I want my vision to do for people. Hurt people, people in pain, people who mistakely think they are ugly and worthless because that is what others make them feel. People who think their life is over and that is all there is. When in fact, they are so very beautiful and talented. They just don't know it.
It isn’t until we take back the control that we give others that we are finally free to live our lives. It isn’t until we really honestly look at ourselves, take responsibility for our choices and where they have brought us, that we can truly move into our greatness. We make every choice that effects our lives. We can’t control other people, places or things, but we can control our reactions and choice of how to react.
Life is a journey. I have been told that a million times in my life but what does that really mean? Does that mean we spend out lives chasing a dream to work hard and succeed. Get married, have kids, grow old, and retire. Then what?
